Since the beginning of the 90s, Spain has been undergoing a wine revolution; old wine regions like Rioja, and other, previously unknown or neglected regions have suddenly emerged into the limelight. Cataluna is one of the latter, and the Mederano is a perfect example of what these changes are about: a blend of the international fave Cabernet and Spain's most famous indigenous grape, Tempranillo. Both bring their best to the wine, and the end result is a medium-bodied wine with aromas of dark plum, cherry, and a little spice, with firm, food-friendly acidity.
